Irish Coffee done the proper old-fashioned way: real heavy cream floated on top of black coffee with sugar and Irish whiskey, no Bailey’s, no whipped cream topping. Restaurants that do it any other way are just lazy.
- 1 tsp sugar
- 4 oz hot coffee
- 1 1/2 Irish whiskey
- 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
- Put sugar in a goblet and pour in hot coffee. Stir to dissolve.
- Add Irish whiskey.
- Whip heavy whipping cream until double in volume. Gently pour the whipped cream over an overturned spoon to float on top of the coffee.
