There is nothing revelatory about hard boiled eggs, but since I hardly eat eggs, I thought I’d make hard boiled eggs, using the cold water method.
- whole eggs
- salt to taste
- Place cold eggs in a saucepan and add enough cold water to cover them by at least one inch.
- Bring the water to a boil, then cover and turn off the heat. Wait 6 minutes.
- Prepare an ice bath (cold water and ice). Transfer the eggs to the ice bath to cool completely before peeling.
- Cut eggs in half lengthwise. Sprinkle with salt.
