I like to consult published recipes for inspiration (I have a LOT of cookbooks), but I never follow them completely, and I definitely do not copy other peoples’ recipes word for word for my recipes published in my own blog. 

I always make modifications so my recipes are not identical to any published recipes. The dishes might be similar, but the measurements, ingredients, some steps, and/or times are usually different. Sometimes I’m even making adjustments while I’m still cooking, so the final published recipe might look different from when I started. 

Other recipes are entirely my own creations based on what I like to eat, and they can be very improvised on the spot, frequently without any additional need to shop for ingredients.

These are recipes I have adapted or created since COVID started when I had more time to cook and have now kept going. The photos are not professionally staged. I think of this as my cooking journal.
