Chinese Fish Salad

I have a recipe for Chinese Fish Salad, which is very similar to ceviche. I skipped most of the garnishes, because I didn’t have them and I didn’t feel like shopping for them. I had made it before, long time ago, and I remember it being really good, and there was no actual cooking involved.
  • 1 1/4 lb cod fillet, thinly sliced
  • juice from one large lemon
  • 2 tblsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tblsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/4 tsp 5-spice powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tblsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 scallions, chopped
  1. Marinate the fish in the lemon juice. Meanwhile, mix the rest of the ingredients except sesame seeds and chopped scallions in a bowl.
  2. Remove the fish from the lemon juice into the dressing and toss to coat. Put on a serving plate and sprinkle the sesame seeds and chopped scallion on top.
