I have a recipe for Chinese Fish Salad, which is very similar to ceviche. I skipped most of the garnishes, because I didn’t have them and I didn’t feel like shopping for them. I had made it before, long time ago, and I remember it being really good, and there was no actual cooking involved.
- 1 1/4 lb cod fillet, thinly sliced
- juice from one large lemon
- 2 tblsp vegetable oil
- 2 tblsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp toasted sesame oil
- 2 tsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp dry mustard
- 1/4 tsp 5-spice powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tblsp toasted sesame seeds
- 2 scallions, chopped
- Marinate the fish in the lemon juice. Meanwhile, mix the rest of the ingredients except sesame seeds and chopped scallions in a bowl.
- Remove the fish from the lemon juice into the dressing and toss to coat. Put on a serving plate and sprinkle the sesame seeds and chopped scallion on top.
