I wanted something that would be gentle on the stomach, but I didn’t want congee.
- 1/2 cup yellow lentils, soaked overnight and drained
- 2 cups water
- 6 cloves
- 6 green cardamom pods
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 1 tsp salt
- Put everything in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cover and turn the heat to low and simmer for 2 hours.
- Gently whisk the soup before serving.
